At Roche you can show up as yourself, embraced for the unique qualities you bring. Our culture encourages personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections,  where you are valued, accepted and respected for who you are, allowing you to thrive both personally and professionally. This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.

The centralized Treasury department in Basel ensures optimal financing and appropriate liquidity for the Roche Group and its affiliates and is responsible for managing the Group’s financial assets and liabilities.

Within Treasury, the IHB Operations & Resilience team runs key activities of the Roche InHouse Bank (IHB), providing banking and treasury services to Roche affiliates globally. The team ensures reliable execution of treasury transactions and operational controls while continuously improving the resilience, automation and digitalization of our processes.

We are looking for an intern interested in gaining hands-on experience in Treasury Operations while contributing to process improvement through data analytics, automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

As part of the Treasury IHB Operations & Resilience team, you will gain exposure to Treasury Operations, Cash Management, financial controls and digital transformation. You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the daily operations of the Roche InHouse Bank, including processing and monitoring different financial products: FX, money market, loans, securities, derivatives and intercompany transactions.
  • Creating and maintaining treasury master data in SAP and supporting payment processes.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, including cash pool interest calculations and reconciliations.
  • Performing operational and financial controls, including electronic bank statement and balance controls and clearing account reviews.
  • Contributing to operational resilience and process optimization by reviewing and streamlining existing processes, improving documentation, identifying risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Leveraging data analytics, automation and AI/Generative AI to identify exceptions and inefficiencies, strengthen controls, automate repetitive activities and continuously improve Treasury processes.
  • Taking ownership of smaller improvement initiatives and, depending on experience, selected Treasury-related projects.

You have a completed Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science or Industrial Engineering, currently studying towards a Master’s Degree or graduated no longer than 12 months ago. Ideally, you bring the following skills and experience:

  • Fluent English skills; German knowledge is a plus.
  • Good data analysis foundation skills (SQL, Python).
  • Interest in AI, Generative AI, automation and digitalization and their application to Finance and Treasury processes.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI or similar) and ERP systems (e.g. SAP) is a plus.
  • Proactivity, strong attention to detail, flexibility and interest in understanding and improving end-to-end processes.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of Treasury, Finance, banking or financial markets is a plus.

The preferred start date of the internship is mid-January 2027, with a duration of 12 months.

It is possible to write a Master’s thesis during this internship.

  • CV and Motivation letter (including desired start date)
  • A certificate of enrollment (if you are currently studying), or copy of degree certificate (if you have completed your studies)
  • For non-EU/EFTA citizens: Certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory, including the duration of the mandatory internship  (required due to regulations)
