Fundwell helps small and medium-sized businesses access capital with greater clarity, speed, and confidence. Our financial technology platform brings financing options and experienced specialists together, helping business owners compare offers, understand their choices, and move from application to funding through a streamlined process.
We combine technology with personal guidance because financing is more than a transaction—it can help a business hire its next employee, purchase equipment, or pursue its next stage of growth. Our team makes those decisions easier to navigate, building relationships grounded in transparency and trust.
The Head of Finance is Fundwell’s senior-most finance leader and a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team. This role leads FP&A, business performance, and decision support, ensuring leaders and teams have the information and guidance needed to drive profitable growth. The Head of Finance oversees accounting through the Controller, who is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, reporting, controls, audit readiness, and tax coordination. A strategic advisor, educator, and hands-on operator, this leader will build a scalable finance function and may grow into Fundwell’s future CFO as the company evolves.
Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, scenario modeling, and performance reporting.
Create a clear operating cadence for financial and business performance, including reporting on revenue, profitability, cash flow, key drivers, and material variances.
Partner with the CEO and functional leaders to evaluate priorities, allocate resources, identify risks and opportunities, and connect financial plans to company OKRs.
Keep leaders and teams informed by translating financial results and complex concepts into clear insights, practical recommendations, and useful guidance.
Provide financial analysis on pricing, product and portfolio performance, revenue quality, liquidity, and the unit economics of Fundwell’s lending and payments businesses.
Support capital planning and relationships with lenders, investors, and other financial partners as needed.
Lead and develop the Controller, ensuring the accounting function delivers accurate reporting, sound controls, and audit-ready processes.
Build scalable models, dashboards, systems, and processes, using AI responsibly to strengthen analysis, automate appropriate work, and improve visibility.
Partner with the CRO on compensation and incentive planning and with HR on the annual compensation cycle.
Develop the Finance team and external partners while remaining hands-on, responsive, and accountable.
Leaders have timely, accurate, and actionable visibility into company performance.
Budgets, forecasts, OKRs, and resource decisions are connected through a practical operating rhythm.
Fundwell has a clear view of the financial drivers and unit economics supporting profitable growth.
The Controller-led accounting function consistently delivers reliable reporting and strong controls.
10+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior leadership responsibility in a growing organization.
Experience in fintech, payments, and/or lending is required.
Deep expertise in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, cash-flow planning, and financial modeling.
Experience leading a Controller or senior accounting leader, with a strong working knowledge of accounting, controls, audit, tax, and compliance.
Experience preparing executive- or Board-level reporting and working with lenders, investors, or other financial stakeholders.
Strong communication and teaching skills, with the ability to make complex financial concepts clear and useful to employees at every level.
A hands-on, low-ego style with strong judgment, ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to move between strategy and execution.
Experience improving finance systems, data, automation, and the responsible use of AI is a plus; a CPA, MBA, or other relevant advanced credential is preferred.
Shape the financial strategy and operating discipline supporting Fundwell’s next stage of growth.
Partner directly with the CEO and leadership team on decisions that influence company performance and long-term value.
Build a modern finance function with meaningful ownership, company-wide impact, and the opportunity to grow with the business.
Join a mission-driven team helping small and medium-sized businesses access capital with greater clarity, speed, and confidence.
