Responsibilities

→Takes ownership in and is accountable for maintaining safe work practices, safe workplaces, and safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
→Performs drilling, blasting, and mucking duties. Determines the amount of explosives, placement, and firing of explosives with the ability to minimize overbreak and dilution.
→Performs other duties as assigned from time to time at the discretion of the company.
→Takes ownership in muck handling to eliminate muck mixing and ensure delivery of quality ore to the concentrator.
→Work as an essential member of a production or development team.
→Operates underground equipment such as loaders, remote loaders, trucks, and longhole drill.
→Performs other duties as assigned from time to time at the discretion of the company.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required:

→Must meet and maintain qualifications for working with explosives per the Safe Explosives Act.
→Underground hard rock mining experience specifically regarding panel mining, long hole drilling, and remote mucking.
→Working knowledge of utilities, services, and ventilation including installation, use, and salvage of systems.

Preferred:

→Ability to effectively set up longhole drill and correctly measure collar offsets and adjust dips according to drill plan.
→Knowledge of small tools.
→Understanding of mine equipment and materials terminology and uses.
