Alternate Family Living - Contractor

Do you want work that makes a meaningful difference in your community? Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Alternate Family Living Contractor to join our Individual and Community Services team in Albemarle, NC.  

As an AFL provider, you will have an individual come to live with you who possesses intellectual developmental disabilities and/or possibly mental health challenges. Our supported individuals each have their own identities with varying levels of needs and we pride ourselves on connecting people with the “right fit”. You will offer a stable and caring home where they can live, grow and integrate into the community working toward goals of daily living skills/independence. Depending on the supported individual, he/she may attend a day program or receive other services in addition to what the AFL will be providing with residential services.

CNA or DSP Experience is preferred!

This is an opportunity for an independent contractor and is not an employment position.

We’re looking for someone who brings the experience, skills, and commitment needed to succeed in this role.  

• High school diploma or equivalent required  

• Valid North Carolina Driver’s license, reliable transportation and vehicle insurance required 

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities

• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability are a must!
