Job Duties:

Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center (WWRC) provides people with disabilities comprehensive, individualized services to realize personal independence through employment. WWRC strives to be the preferred provider of comprehensive vocational rehabilitation for Virginians with Disabilities. We apply our shared values; Ethical, Engaged, and Effective, to everything we do.

The WWRC Career and Workforce Development Division provides classroom instruction, hands-on instruction, experiential assessment, transition, workforce preparation, and workforce training services for eligible Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) consumers served through the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services’ Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS). Workforce preparation and training services are delivered in accordance with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and federal and state Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) special education laws and regulations.

We are seeking a Postsecondary Education & Rehabilitation Transition Supervisor. The PERT Supervisor leads, manages, and directs all administrative, programmatic, and fiscal functions of the Post-Secondary Education Rehabilitation Transition (PERT) Program at WWRC to ensure efficient and effective operations. This position serves as the Superintendent's Designee for purposes of VDOE SOP and Special Education Compliance and is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of day-to-day PERT services within WWRC’s residential community, directly and through delegation to assigned staff.

In alignment with WWRC’s Vision for Workforce Development and VDOE State Operated Programs (SOP) requirements—the PERT Supervisor inspires a shared vision for high-quality school-to-work transition programming for youth with disabilities. The role ensures educational integrity, leadership, and accountability in planning, delivering, and evaluating PERT services in partnership with Agency, VDOE, workforce, and stakeholders.

The PERT Supervisor promotes collaboration across division services to strengthen career and transition planning, improve access to workforce development programs, and support positive completion and employment outcomes for participants. The incumbent engages staff and external partners in strategies that respond to literacy needs, educational challenges, economic shifts, and regional labor market demands, while leading ongoing professional development to equip staff with essential knowledge, tools, and resources.

Using data-informed decision-making, the PERT Supervisor advances program excellence, monitors program outcomes, and highlights participant success stories. Because the role oversees service delivery for targeted youth with disabilities enrolled in Virginia’s public education system, it requires access to confidential and personally identifiable information for agency participants and staff.
