Primary School Music Teacher

We are looking for a Primary School Music Teacher for a bilingual international school in Shanghai’s Pudong district. This position is available from the upcoming 2027/28 academic year in August 2027

Job Responsibilities

• Teach music to primary school students through engaging, age-appropriate lessons
• Develop students’ skills in singing, instrumental performance, listening and composition
• Prepare lesson plans, learning materials and assessments that support different learning needs
• Encourage creativity, collaboration and confidence through individual and group music activities
• Assess and monitor students’ progress and provide constructive feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary learning and school performances
• Maintain a supportive classroom and guide students in the responsible use of instruments and equipment

• Bachelor’s degree
• Recognised teaching qualification
• Previous teaching experience in China
• Ability to deliver engaging music lessons for primary school students
• Strong communication, collaboration and classroom management skills
