Who are we?

We’re Standard Life, a retirement specialist focused entirely on retirement savings and income. We champion the belief that everyone’s journey to and through retirement can be better, and for more than 200 years, we’ve been helping our customers plan and prepare for their financial futures.

Life today is increasingly complicated, uncertain and unpredictable. People move through different careers, face unexpected moments and navigate important choices. We offer our colleagues flexibility, trust and benefits that work for whatever life brings. In return we expect curiosity, connection, accountability and high standards. We make room for what matters - so you can bring your best, every day.

The role

We are seeking an experienced Reward Consultant to join our Reward team on a temporary basis to support the delivery of key reward and benefits activities during a critical period.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute across the full spectrum of reward activities, supporting the design, implementation and governance of reward programmes that help attract, retain and motivate our colleagues.

As a trusted reward specialist, you will partner with HR Business Partners, People colleagues and stakeholders to deliver fair, competitive and commercially effective reward outcomes. You'll play a key role in the annual reward cycle, support the ongoing development of our reward framework and benefits proposition, and provide data-driven insight to support reward decision-making.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of the annual compensation cycle, including discretionary pay review and bonus processes.

  • Contribute to reward projects, business change activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Provide reward advice and guidance to HR colleagues on pay, incentives, job evaluation and reward policies.

  • Undertake reward analysis, modelling and scenario planning to support reward decisions, governance and business outcomes.

  • Analyse and interpret complex reward and people data, producing meaningful insights and recommendations for stakeholders.

  • Support colleague benefits programmes, including benefits renewals and colleague communications.

  • Support reward governance activities, ensuring appropriate controls, documentation and compliance.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience working within a Reward function, ideally as a Reward Consultant or Reward Analyst.

  • Experience supporting annual compensation cycles, including discretionary salary review and bonus processes.

  • Benefits experience, including benefits admin, and colleague communications.

  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience working with large datasets, reward modelling, data validation, formulae and analysis.

  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights.

  • Experience producing reward recommendations and supporting decision-making through robust data analysis.

  • Experience delivering multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

We want to hire the whole version of you.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.

If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.

We’re reviewing applications as they come in and may close this role before the closing date, so apply early to avoid missing out.
