- Designs, maintains, and repairs digital and analog infrastructure for broadcast channels, studio/field productions, streaming networks, and executive presentations—ensuring zero-downtime transmissions through real-time signal troubleshooting, equipment evaluations, and continuous integration of modern industry standards.
- Manage AV infrastructure, presentation technologies, and channel monitoring for high-profile executive assemblies, including Board of Trustees meetings.
- Provide end-to-end technical production support, managing camera setups, audio captures, signal routing, and streaming encoders for studio, field, and remote webcasts.
- Diagnose, repair, and service failing analog and digital hardware while managing power distribution systems to extend equipment reliability.
- Calibrate audio and video equipment continuously to maintain strict industry standards for broadcast and streaming quality.
- Draft and update standard operating procedures and technical documentation to standardize engineering workflows and board service operations.
- Perform real-time signal monitoring, flow tracing, and quality control during live events to immediately resolve disruptions and ensure uninterrupted transmissions.
- Design, configure, and maintain IP-based audio, video, lighting, and network systems across broadcast channels, studios, field productions, and executive facilities.
- Reconfigure transmission circuits and rapidly swap redundant hardware under live broadcast conditions to prevent system downtime.
- Evaluate emerging AV, broadcast, and IP streaming technologies to recommend hardware upgrades and modernize production capabilities.
- Share technical updates, industry best practices, and system insights with team members and leadership to align cross-functional engineering standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Director.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering.
- 8-12 years of broadcast engineering experience; Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) preferred.
- Valid Texas Driver's License and a record that meets the District's standard.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in computer-based technology associated with production, maintenance, and distribution.
- Demonstrated recent experience in component-level repair and maintenance of broadcast television audio/visual production equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of television system design and the installation and wiring of production related audio/video! satellite equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of television, video, and film equipment and related production activities.
- Basic video production in studio, field and live events as well as editing skills.
- Ability to work independently without general supervision or as a team member.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form.
- Ability to work days, evenings or weekends as necessary.
- Ability to work with sensitive materials and maintain confidentiality.
