Advocate Health’s 7-week Summer Internship Program offers a robust and well-rounded experience to high school students aged 16+. We provide students with meaningful work that aligns with their interests, helping them gain valuable experience while fostering connections and creating opportunities to have fun with fellow interns and colleagues. Our internship program is designed to not only expose students to the day-to-day work of an Advocate Health teammate, but to have the opportunity to attend professional development and social networking events throughout the summer.
The Intern participates in a structured, hands-on learning experience designed to introduce high school students to careers in healthcare and the day-to-day operations of a hospital or health system. Students may rotate through or support a variety of departments, gaining exposure to clinical, administrative, operational, and support functions. Under the guidance and supervision of hospital team members, interns will participate in educational activities, observational experiences, and assigned projects while developing foundational workplace and professional skills.
