Job Summary

An opportunity to play a leading role in the growth and strategic development of the Sustainable Finance franchise within Absa Corporate and Investment Banking. The successful candidate will be responsible for originating, structuring, executing, and scaling innovative sustainable finance solutions across sectors, while deepening client relationships and driving market leadership.

The role requires an experienced investment banking professional with a strong understanding of sustainable finance markets, products, and regulatory developments. The candidate should demonstrate a proven ability to originate and execute complex transactions, develop new business opportunities, influence senior stakeholders, and contribute to the strategic direction of the Sustainable Finance franchise.
An entrepreneurial mindset, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to identify and deliver innovative financing solutions that support clients' sustainability ambitions while generating sustainable growth for the Bank.

Lead the origination, pitching, negotiation, structuring, and execution of Sustainable Finance transactions across Absa's client base.

Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of sustainable finance opportunities.

Identify, originate, and bring to market innovative sustainable finance solutions, structures, and products that address emerging client needs and market opportunities.

Collaborate with coverage, product, sector, risk, treasury, and capital markets teams to deliver holistic client solutions.

Act as a trusted advisor to clients on sustainable finance strategies, frameworks, market trends, and evolving regulatory requirements.

Drive revenue growth through successful mandate conversion and execution excellence.

Contribute to the strategic growth and positioning of Absa's Sustainable Finance franchise.

Proactively identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and business initiatives.

Originate and develop new sustainable finance products, solutions, frameworks, and market propositions.

Develop and manage senior client relationships and act as a trusted advisor.

Build and maintain strong relationships across Absa Group.

Lead complex stakeholder engagements and negotiations.

Engage with investors, DFIs, regulators, and industry associations.

Mentor, coach, and develop associates, analysts, and junior bankers.

Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration and innovation.

Promote thought leadership internally and externally.

Ensure compliance with applicable policies, frameworks, and market standards.

Maintain strong governance and control disciplines.

Identify and manage commercial, reputational, regulatory, and sustainability-related risks.

Education

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
