Responsibilities

→Own the technical design and operational health of Azure platform services, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, security and governance standard.
→Provision repeatable environments through infrastructure as code and automated deployment pipelines.
→Engineer platform foundations for Data Lake Storage, Fabric, Data Factory, Databricks, Azure SQL and related services.
→Apply private connectivity, managed identities, secrets management, encryption, backup and disaster-recovery patterns.
→Monitor reliability, performance, capacity and cost; lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
→Lead technical delivery of cloud platform workstreams, managing technical risks, dependencies, readiness activities and successful transition into operations
→Define and enforce cloud engineering standards, automation practices and operational controls to ensure consistency, cost optimisation, reliability and maintainability across environments
→Provide technical leadership and coaching to engineers while collaborating with architects, security teams, application teams and client stakeholders to align cloud-platform capabilities with business requirements

Strong hands-on Azure engineering experience across networking, compute, storage, identity and governance.
Experience with Terraform or Bicep, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, and scripting with PowerShell or Python.
Working knowledge of Azure data services and the non-functional needs of analytical platforms.
Strong understanding of enterprise security architecture, resilience engineering, observability, governance and cloud financial management.
Demonstrated experience leading cloud engineering teams or workstreams, influencing stakeholders and managing technical delivery in enterprise environments
