~1 min readAcres is hiring a Senior Accountant to help run the day-to-day financial operations of a fast-growing land intelligence company. You’ll work across AP, AR, and the close process — keeping the books clean and the business informed.
This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You’ll collaborate across teams, support our external tax and audit partners, and be the go-to resource for finance questions from around the business. You’ll report to the Corporate Controller and work closely with the FP&A team and CFO.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Assist in managing the month-end and year-end close process and preparation of financial statements and filings in accordance with GAAP
- →Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts
- →Manage accounts payable which includes reviewing invoices, approving payments, managing vendor relationships
- →Oversee accounts receivable which includes invoicing customers, and working with customer success team on collections
- →Coordinate with external tax accountants and auditors; remain relevant on GAAP principles and knowledgeable on tax concepts.
- →Manage 1099 filings for contractors
- →Oversee employee expense reporting and corporate card reconciliation, enforcing company spend policies and ensuring accurate GL coding
- →Answer ad hoc finance questions from across the business
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field; Master of Accountancy and/or CPA license preferred.
- 2-3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Detail oriented with a strong analytical and problem solving mindset
- Experience with Quickbooks or other accounting software
- Exemplary knowledge of GAAP.
- Outstanding communication skills in order to collaborate and work cross-functionally.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
