Division and Unit Overview
The American Chemical Society (ACS) is a non-profit organization founded in 1876 and chartered by the U.S. Congress.  It is the world’s largest scientific membership association with a mission to advance scientific knowledge, empower a global community, and champion scientific integrity. Our vision is a world built on science.

ACS Publications is a Division of the ACS and has all the characteristics of a medium-large scientific and technical publishing organization. It is one of two Divisions charged with serving the dual function of generating a reliable annual surplus to support the Society’s programmatic activities, while also fulfilling a core goal of the Society in advancing knowledge in the field of chemistry and the chemical enterprise. The Division publishes 80+ high-quality peer-reviewed journals covering the breadth of chemistry and allied fields, as well as numerous other high-quality products and services of benefit to the global community.

The Division has US-based facilities in Washington, D.C. and Columbus OH, as well as worldwide operations in a growing number of international locations under ACS International, Ltd. (ACSI) including but not limited to the UK, Singapore, China, and India.

The ACS Publications Division operates under the Society’s global Mission, Vision and Core Values and aims at publishing and offering the most trusted and influential products and services in scientific publishing and to become the first choice of every researcher. ACS Publications specific Core Values help us to show up every day in our work with Ambition, Integrity, Clear and Effective Communication and collaborate in Teams of Teams.

The Global Marketing Department within ACS Publications is responsible for developing marketing strategies and integrated campaign plans to engage our target audience, drive demand, and strengthen our relationships with them. The Department’s objectives for engaging our audience are to increase the brand equity and, ultimately, enable the revenue capture for the Division’s product lines of over 80 journals, eBooks, and a range of digital offerings. The current target audience includes researchers, authors, reviewers, editors, institutional/corporate librarians, administrators, funders, ACS members, and the range of end users.
