JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Wisconsin Medford, Rhinelander, Tomahawk Service Setting: Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: ASAP – Ongoing Shift Schedule: TBD Medford: 1-2 shifts/month Rhinelander, Tomahawk: 20 shifts/month Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered by Agency PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: Medford: Roughly 40-60 Rhinelander, Tomahawk: 17-23 Annual ER Visits: 11,260 FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: Level IV EMR System: Epic Specialty Backup Available: Telecardiology and Telestroke available 24/7 Support Staffs: ED APC: 12p-10p UC APC: 8a-8p (M-F); 8a-4p (weekend & holidays) 24-hr Services: Anesthesia, General Surgery, Laboratory, OR Response Time Other Info: Newborn deliveries are received in the ED Dual Coverage: ED & UC PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE (BC in EM for Rhinelander, Tomahawk) Licenses: WI license or willing to obtain Certifications: BLS, ATLS Clean record (Rhinelander, Tomahawk) Duties & Responsibilities Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients in the Emergency Department and Urgent Care settings. Manage approximately 40-60 patients per day in a Level IV trauma center with dual provider coverage. Collaborate with telecardiology and telestroke services for 24/7 consultation. Supervise and coordinate with Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) during scheduled shifts. Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital protocols and Epic EMR system.
