The Procurement Manager for Corporate Services and Sustainability reports to the Vice President of Procurement and is responsible for leading the category, sourcing and supplier strategies in partnership with corporate functions (IT, HR, Legal, Finance). This role leads a team that develops and executes sourcing strategies, evaluates product and service offerings, recommends suppliers, negotiates contracts, and manages supplier performance. This position also manages procurement sustainability goals and serves as the Together for Sustainability (TfS) Coordinator for the company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads a procurement services team, with the focus on talent acquisition, coaching, skill development and deployment of procurement and business capabilities that meets or exceeds organizational goals and stakeholder expectations.
Provides technical direction, advice, and counsel on a wide array of supplier and stakeholder situations, bringing broad depth and breadth of experience to handle procuring services across complex and/or changing categories.
Develops thorough category strategies to drive value based on an understanding of internal stakeholder needs, the supply market, spend analysis and benchmarking. Effectively documenting, communicating and gaining buy-in for the strategies.
Translates the category strategies into sourcing strategies, which contains acceptable supplier negotiation approaches and outcomes aligned with business leader objectives.
Researches, selects, develops and maintains strong supplier relationships to ensure the requirements of the categories are met with the optimum quality, service and cost to use
Manages supplier performance, including objective setting and supplier evaluations. Interacts with stakeholders to develop, engage and lead supplier relationships to extract the greatest value in cost, security of supply, risk management, sustainability and innovation.
Leads sustainable procurement for the company, including partnering with Sustainability and representing AdvanSix in external organizations such as Together for Sustainability (TfS)
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, technologies, related corporate policies and procedures, as well as regulations, ensuring procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations
Oversees tactical purchasing for all corporate functions, including the issuance of purchase orders and/or payment of invoices
Comprehends and provides constructive input on legal contract documents related to purchasing terms, conditions, indemnification, intellectual property ownership, etc.
Leads business continuity planning and continuous improvement opportunities across key suppliers and categories to improve total cost and correct potential risks with services.
Creates and manages metrics necessary to ensure customer satisfaction and the ongoing competitiveness of procured products and services.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field; master’s degree preferred
8+ years of experience in purchasing and/or supply chain management
A strong background across multiple corporate services procurement areas is desired, with a particular preference for expertise negotiating, managing contracts, and driving supplier performance related to the IT function.
Experience leading the delivery and optimization of procurement services, including developing teams, people and services strategies.
Additional Qualifications:
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills at different levels across the organization; excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to champion a cause and collaborate cross functionally to identify and implement process improvement opportunities
Strategic mindset, problem solving, project management
Travel may be required
The base salary range for this role is: $130,700 to $196,100.
