Systems Integration Lead - Automation & Lead Commissioning

The Systems Integration Lead – Automation & Lead Commissioning plays a vital role in the success of our projects, acting as the "Voice of Engineering" so that the solutions we deliver meet specification with the customer's requirements at the forefront of everyone's minds. The role is responsible for planning and executing integrated, volume and acceptance testing of the overall solution (or an assigned subsystem thereof), ensuring design integrity and proactive technical risk management so that the integrated solution meets the functionality and throughput requirements defined in the contract and measured by acceptance testing.

You will need to ensure all testing of a material handling system is completed and matches specifications, assisting or leading multiple testing phases from the Sales phase through to hand-over to Customer Service. This is a site-based position within Systems Integration function, and you will drive both user and solution acceptance testing to increase the right-first-time acceptance of our technology in the wider automated materials handling solution.

• →Ensure the completed system meets functional, performance and throughput specifications, and understand the material flow concept, physical layout and functional design.
• →Act as the "Voice of Engineering" to Solutions Development and the Simulation team, reviewing solutions, acceptance testing language and simulation outputs, and flagging the impact of deviations early.
• →Execute Systems Engineering processes and write technical documentation, including system and subsystem specifications, to manage the technical baseline and align deliverables with contractual requirements.
• →Define and lead the integration strategy, keeping all technical disciplines working toward common goals and compatible schedules.
• →Develop Integration, Volume and Acceptance Test plans, and lead onsite testing during commissioning of highly automated material handling equipment (with the Test Manager), coordinating multi-discipline resources and documenting results.
• →Own the issues list during testing: priorities, drive resolution and escalate where necessary.
• →Produce system availability weightings and oversee the appropriate FEM availability calculation.
• →Ensure customer satisfaction and build effective relationships with all project stakeholders, keeping the System Engineering Manager and/or Project Manager regularly informed of testing status.
• →Proactively promote group standards, innovation, risk identification and safety management.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Plant or a related
• 4-7 years experience in engineering or technical management (ideally in highly automated logistics) is advantageous , Previous experience in testing, design or delivery of complex automation and material handling systems
• Experience commissioning material handling, WMS / WCS, order fulfilment and warehouse automation in an engineering discipline; previous experience as a Software Engineer in warehouse management systems is beneficial but not essential.
• Knowledge of best practice in Systems Engineering and multi-disciplined project management.
• Ability to lead, direct, motivate and coordinate the activities of a testing team.
• Demonstrated ability to create technical documentation.
• Excellent communication, functional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to be customer-facing.
• Collaborative and effective team player, able to work with regionally located teams.
• Reporting and analytics experience is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel to local and international project sites for extended periods based on the project life cycle (approximately 50-70%+ annually).

• This is a predominantly site-based role. You should expect to move from one site to the next supporting integrated commissioning and testing phases.
• Sites are predominantly in your home region (Northern America / EMEA depending on the position), with occasional worldwide travel.
• You may be required to work outside core business hours, including some weekend work.
