What We Offer

Hours: 7am-3:30pm
- Selects appropriate materials and sterilization packaging for each instrument set, ensuring proper wrapping for aseptic technique.
- Ensures sterility indicators and lot stickers are present on all instrument sets and packages.
- Operates complex sterilization equipment, selecting the correct method of sterilization based on manufacturer instructions.
- Reviews and signs all sterilizer recording charts to verify proper sterilization parameters before releasing items for clinical use.
- Monitors sterilizer printouts, maintains records, and documents all requirements in appropriate logbooks or computer systems.
- Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements. [Required]
- Ability to understand the needs of the customer and respond to them in a pro-active, courteous, professional, and efficient manner. [Required]
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to change. [Required]
- Ability to work under stress and deadlines. [Required]
- Medical terminology [Required]
- Understanding of the principles of microbiology, aseptic principles and techniques, and infection control as they apply to sterile supply operation. [Required]
- Basic knowledge of prevention of cross contamination and the critical nature of nosocomial infections. [Required]
- Knowledge of the use, operation, maintenance, assembly, disassembly and cleaning requirements of the full range of instruments and equipment. [Required]
- Ability and experience with computer systems [Preferred]
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
- Technical/Vocational School [Preferred]
- in healthcare sterile processing
- 1+ related experience [Preferred]
- Additional Licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located. Please consult the relevant credential grid for detailed information regarding these requirements.
- Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) [Required] OR Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) [Required]
