Assistant Maintenance Manager

Ensures the availability and safe operation of production assets through a combination of preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.  Analyzes maintenance-related data to meet company-wide uptime goals and reduce unscheduled downtime.  Responsible for the development, supervision, and continuous improvement of Maintenance Technicians.  Directs and supports Maintenance Supervisors, and promotes a systematic root cause analysis approach to problem solving. 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university and 4 years of related experience; or Technical Associate’s degree and 8 years of related experience.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, vendors, and the general public.

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. 

Ability to perform root cause analysis, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

Must be able to function in a team environment by working with, and cooperating with others.

Must be able to clearly communicate in both written and oral forms with others. 

Should be pro-actively involved in the improvement process, and promote its use within the facility.

Must possess an in-depth knowledge of PLC and CNC programming and troubleshooting.

Must possess an in-depth knowledge of electrical/electronic circuits and test equipment (e.g. multimeters, ammeters, voltmeters, etc.).

Must possess an in-depth knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics with the ability to troubleshoot and program.

Knowledge of welding and simple fabrication.  Welding should include: stick, mig, and tig.

Must possess an in-depth knowledge of machine control circuits and understanding of schematics.

Knowledge of plumbing, pumps, feed lines, PVC, CPVC, copper and metal piping.
