About the Role

~1 min read

This is a full-scope CFO role in a company where your decisions show up directly in the results, and complex enough that the job takes real technical depth: government cost accounting, multi-site regulated operations, capital-intensive assets and customers who expect audit-ready compliance.

You will lead the finance organization, serve as principal financial advisor to the Executive Committee and Board, and carry a clear mandate to build people, systems, reporting and controls to match where the business is going. If you want a seat where finance is treated as a business function rather than a scorekeeping function, this is that seat.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, accounting, treasury, tax, audit, compliance and internal controls.
  • Serve as principal financial advisor to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Deliver accurate, board-ready monthly financial reporting within 15 business days of month-end, and shorten the close from there.
  • Own liquidity: maintain a rolling 12-week cash-flow forecast reviewed weekly with the Executive Committee, alongside a rolling 12-month revenue forecast.
  • Manage working capital, capital allocation, financing activity, banking relationships, credit facilities and covenant compliance.
  • Ensure government-contract billing, cost accounting and financial systems comply with applicable FAR, DFARS, DCAA, contractual and customer requirements, including the annual incurred cost submission.
  • Own the indirect rate structure and maintain visibility into direct and indirect cost, overhead, G&A, program margin and contract profitability.
  • Establish program- and customer-level financial reporting, and partner with Program Management, Operations, Engineering, Contracts and Business Development to act on it.
  • Set and monitor financial and operational KPIs; surface variances, risks and corrective actions early.
  • Evaluate investments, pricing, partnerships, acquisitions and financing alternatives on their economics.
  • Maintain strong internal controls, delegated authorities and risk-management practices, including insurance and bonding.
  • Lead relationships with auditors, tax advisors, lenders, insurers and other financial partners.
  • Build, develop and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.
  • Drive improvement in ERP, reporting, automation, business intelligence and financial process, with executive oversight of assigned IT, cybersecurity and data governance.

  • Strong command of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, corporate finance, cost accounting and internal controls.
  • A track record of building and executing financial strategy in a growing, operationally complex organization.
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership and/or a board of directors.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and decision-making skills.
  • High integrity, discretion and sound business judgment.
  • Strong proficiency with ERP, financial reporting and business-intelligence systems.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • Develop, implement, integrate systems requirements for Aery success.
