Behind every debt settlement is a person trying to get their financial life back on track. As a Settlement Coordinator at Americor, you'll work together with creditors to find solutions that will help our clients move forward. You’ll be coordinating settlements with our most transactional creditors, where your customer service and communication skills can help you shine in an entry-level role in negotiations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work directly with creditors to process reduced settlements on behalf of our clients
• Calculate settlement amounts within department guidelines to ensure fair outcomes for clients and creditors alike
• Manage an active queue of accounts, staying organized and consistent to meet monthly production goals
• Review client accounts to assess available funds and determine next steps
• Gather and submit documentation needed for settlement approval and payment
• Collaborate with teammates to share insights and support each other in reaching the best outcomes for clients
• Maintain clear, effective communication
• Perform other related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
• Effective communication skills
• A high degree of initiative and a positive, can-do attitude
• Genuine passion for helping people, with an outstanding focus on clients' needs
• Good judgment and adaptability in fast-changing conversations
• Ability to meet and exceed monthly goals
• Close attention to detail and ability to apply policies and procedures consistently
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in debt settlement negotiations, collections, mortgage loan processing, or customer service
• Debt settlement negotiation experience preferred
• Back-end collections or recovery collections experience preferred
• Mortgage operations experience a plus
