Asset Management

• Provide maintenance, repair, quality assurance and performance testing on specialised electro medical and scientific equipment, including all aspects of equipment designated to be under the care of the team to which the position is attached.

• The position requires minimal technical supervision and is available to participate in the Departments emergency call back and rostered after-hours service to the health service (incl. critical care, emergency and disaster response).

• Manage personal workflow to ensure timely compliance with the requirements of the Department’s Quality Management System;
  • maintenance and updating of current, accurate, and quality documentation reflecting the continuous improvement of work practices;
  • facilitation of the conduct of internal and external Quality Audits, plus the timely implementation of their recommendations.

• Ensure the entry of accurate and timely information onto the Asset Management System to comply with quality assurance requirements. This includes comprehensive service records that accurately reflect labour, parts, and consumables.

• Assist in maintaining appropriate spare parts stock levels.

Training and Education

• Maintain appropriate contemporary knowledge of
  • relevant biomedical equipment, including the application of computer-based systems to fault diagnosis;
  • bacterial contamination hazards;
  • sterilising procedures and;
  • ionising, laser radiation and other hazards as identified or advised.

• Provide handover training during transition between care areas.
