About the Role

This position sits within the Accounting Services Branch and is responsible for the preparation of departmental financial statements and related reports. You will play a key role in ensuring statutory compliance and delivering accurate financial data to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

→Preparation of annual financial statements and supporting documentation.
→Oversight of financial reporting for grants and acquittals.
→Journal preparation and general ledger maintenance.
→Responding to audit queries and providing accounting advice.
→Compliance with Treasurer’s Instructions and Australian Accounting Standards.
→Analysis of financial data and preparation of monthly management reports.
→Maintenance of the Financial Management Manual.
→Participation in committee work and ad hoc duties as required.

Significant experience in financial reporting and/or financial preparation.
Sound knowledge of accounting concepts and Australian Accounting Standards.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
Relevant tertiary qualification and CA ANZ or CPA Australia membership (or progress towards).
