Sonka Resort Manager

Part of Arctic GM Experiences Oy, Sonka is a premium lakeside retreat in Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland, bringing together panoramic mirror houses, private villas and authentic Arctic experiences. We are looking for a hospitality professional who leads by example, takes responsibility and combines a warm, guest-focused approach with strong operational and commercial judgement. You will keep the resort running smoothly, support your team and maintain consistently high standards across every aspect of the guest experience — while working closely with management on improvements and future development.

• Lead day-to-day resort operations, coordinating reception, housekeeping and maintenance, setting clear priorities and ensuring effective teamwork and handovers.
• Take ownership of the complete guest experience, from booking and pre-arrival communication through to departure, maintaining high service standards and resolving guest concerns promptly and professionally.
• Oversee reservations, booking systems, availability and rates, ensuring accuracy across sales channels and working with management to strengthen occupancy, revenue and overall commercial performance.
• Maintain high standards across the property, conducting regular inspections, following up on maintenance and repairs, and ensuring accommodation and shared areas are consistently clean, welcoming and well presented.
• Manage the resort’s guest-facing information and digital presentation, keeping property descriptions, photographs, booking details and practical guest information accurate, consistent and up to date.
• Develop the team and improve operating routines, providing clear guidance, supporting staff and implementing practical improvements that make daily operations more efficient and reliable.
• Work closely with Arctic GM management and operational teams, coordinating resort services with Arctic experiences, reporting operational priorities and challenges, and supporting Sonka’s continued development and growth.

• Proven operational management experience in hotels, resorts or a comparable hospitality environment, with the ability to run a busy operation and maintain consistently high standards.
• Confident, supportive leadership, with the ability to set clear expectations, develop your team and create a culture of cooperation and accountability.
• A structured, reliable and hands-on approach, combining strong organisational skills with a willingness to support the team in day-to-day operations.
• Initiative and sound judgement, with the confidence to take ownership, work independently and make practical decisions without constant direction.
• A genuine commitment to guest satisfaction and quality, with close attention to detail and a calm, solution-oriented approach to guest concerns and changing priorities.
• Fluent English and strong communication skills, enabling you to work effectively with international guests, colleagues and service partners.
• A valid Category B driving licence recognised in Finland.
• The existing legal right to work in Finland, without requiring employer-sponsored work authorisation.

Experience in resort operations, international hospitality, high-volume environments or winter destinations is an advantage.
