Software Developer (Hybrid - Scottsdale, AZ)

We’re looking for a full stack developer with 2+ years of experience who wants to provide excellent member service through their work. Our team builds the tools that help our credit union serve members better, and we offer a lot of freedom to learn, explore, create, and develop useful applications. On any given week, that could mean frontend UI/UX, backend databases or filesystems, task scripting and automation, extending the functionality of our core systems, or a mix of everything.

The Software Developer role creates innovative software solutions to help our team provide superior service to our members. This position is dedicated to delivering code that elevates our organization’s ability to maintain its high service standards and is committed to contributing to the success of our organization by turning member service aspirations into reality through code, creativity, and collaboration with Arrowhead service partners.

In-depth knowledge of programming concepts, including:

•  Experience in software development with a diverse portfolio of projects.
•  Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, ColdFusion/CFML, or others.
•  Experience with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
•  Experience with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL).
•  Working knowledge of frameworks like React, Vue, Bootstrap, jQuery, etc.
•  The ability to use RESTful and SOAP APIs and different API protocols and data formats (JSON, XML).
•  Knowledge of software development principles and best practices (DRY, KISS, Agile, etc.).
• Familiarity with version control, such as Git and Github.
• Secure programming knowledge and awareness is a necessity.
•  Novel sense of design and aesthetic awareness for creating visually appealing and user-friendly web pages and applications.
•  Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
•  An interest in Machine Learning, AI, and data engineering.
•  Knowledge of software testing tools (Selenium, Postman, Insomnia, etc.).
•  Strong time management and organizational skills.
•  Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

2. Designs and develops software applications, including coding, testing, and debugging.

4. Writes clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
5. Collaborates with internal departments to analyze and gather information regarding software performance.
6. Creates software solutions that address member (internal and external) service expectations.
7. Continuously improves and refactors existing code to enhance performance, security, and maintainability.
8. Prepares software documentation, including user guides, wireframes, database designs, and other technical documentation.
9. Troubleshoots and provides technical support for software-related problems.
10. Debugs and resolves software bugs and issues.
11. Participates in code reviews and provides constructive feedback to team members to ensure the desired service experience is achieved.
12. Follows all provisions set forth in the Telecommuter Agreement.
13. Travels to Arrowhead Credit Union headquarters offices as required (based on business needs).

1. Contribute to architectural design and offers recommendations in the decision-making processes.
2. Stay up to date with emerging software development trends and technologies.
3. Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
4. Maintains a working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC), and complies with all laws/regulations applicable to the area of responsibility. Completes all required and assigned training modules by established due dates.
5. Other duties assigned by supervisor as necessary to achieve the goals of the Credit Union and the department.
