Social Media & Content Assistant

About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and creative Social Media & Content Assistant to support a
growing financial planning, investment management, wealth management, and retirement
planning business.
The main focus of this role will be taking ownership of the day-to-day social media workflow,
particularly around YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. The successful candidate will help
turn long-form video content into engaging short-form content, prepare posts, optimize content
using AI tools, and make the overall publishing process more efficient.
The business owner will continue to handle the filming and provide the final approval on scripts
and content. Your role will be to take the content from there and manage the editing,
repurposing, optimization, and publishing process.

 

Key Responsibilities
● Support the management of the company's YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram presence.
● Take long-form YouTube videos and turn them into engaging short-form videos/reels for social media.
● Use tools such as Opus Clip to identify and create short-form content from longer videos.
● Carry out basic video editing and formatting, ideally using Camtasia or similar editing software.
● Assist with creating and refining social media content and captions.
● Use ChatGPT, Claude, or similar AI tools to help optimize scripts, captions, titles, descriptions, and other content.
● Research and recommend effective posting times and content strategies.
● Schedule and publish content across the relevant social media platforms.
● Help develop an efficient and repeatable content production and publishing workflow.
● Potentially recommend and implement social media scheduling/management tools to streamline the process.
● Work closely with the business owner to understand their preferred style, tone, and approach.
● Take feedback and apply the owner's personal voice and preferences to final content.

● Look for opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the company's social media presence.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with social media content, video
editing, or content management, preferably for a business or professional brand.
You should be:
● Highly proficient in written and spoken English, with excellent communication skills.
● Experienced with YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.
● Comfortable working with video content and short-form video.
● Familiar with video editing software such as Camtasia, or able to quickly learn similar platforms.
● Experienced with Opus Clip or similar AI-powered video clipping tools.
● Comfortable using ChatGPT, Claude, or other AI tools to improve content creation and efficiency.
● Familiar with social media posting, scheduling, captions, and content optimization.
● Creative and able to understand what makes content engaging.
● Organized and able to manage a repeatable content workflow.
● Proactive — able to suggest improvements rather than simply waiting for instructions.
● Comfortable working independently while taking direction and feedback from the
business owner.

Experience working with YouTube content for a business, professional, financial, or
personal brand would be highly advantageous.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have previously helped another business
owner or professional manage their content workflow from long-form video → short-form
clips → captions/optimization → scheduling → publishing.
Experience with additional social media management or content scheduling platforms would
also be a plus.
