This role is within Private Client Services and works closely with middle-market clientele. It requires 50% in-office work (within Dallas) and minimal travel (>10%). The role provides advanced technical tax expertise, leads complex client engagements, develops team members, and drives business growth initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep public accounting tax experience and proven leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical review of tax returns and engagement workpapers 

    (Partnerships, Individuals, S-Corps, and C-Corps)
  • Advise clients on business and personal transactions and related tax implications
  • Respond to IRS and regulatory audits, notices, and inquiries

  • Manage complex engagements, multiple client workflows, budgets, and deadlines
  • Develop, mentor, and oversee managers and supervisors

  • Conduct advanced research on complex or emerging tax issues; prepare technical memorandums
  • Stay current on tax law changes and provide internal training updates

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and expanded service offerings
  • Align engagement staffing with resource needs and ensure efficient project execution

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or related field

  • CPA, JD, or EA (qualified to practice before the IRS)

  • Strong experience in multi-state partnership tax

  • 8+ years of public accounting tax experience (or equivalent)

  • 4+ years in a client-facing leadership or managerial role

  • Ability to work in a flexible hybrid environment

  • Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation

  • Recognized subject matter expertise in a specialized area of taxation

  • GTM experience or a desire to go into GTM

  • Salary up to $250K/yr DOE
