The Sourcing Specialist – Buying/Procurement is responsible for supporting the end-to-end procurement process for assigned categories of goods and services in support of SP&S Product Lines Globally. This role ensures timely and cost-effective purchasing while maintaining compliance with sourcing policies, SOPs, and quality standards. The individual will collaborate closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless purchase order execution, supplier performance, and operational excellence.
As a Sourcing Specialist – Buying/Procurement you will also be responsible to:
- Executing the buying process for assigned commodities in line with company sourcing policies and procedures as needed by product Line
- Creating, managing, and follow up on Purchase Orders (POs) to ensure timely delivery
- Monitoring order status and proactively resolve delays or discrepancies
- Maintaining accurate records and updates within ERP systems
- Acting as the primary point of contact for suppliers on operational matters
- Tracking supplier performance related to quality, cost, and delivery
- Escalating and support resolution of supplier underperformance issues
- Collaborating with suppliers to manage schedule changes and ensure business continuity
- Supporting initiatives to achieve best value sourcing, balancing price, quality, and lead time
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Ensuring materials and services are delivered in alignment with business requirements
- Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Supporting KPI tracking and reporting for procurement performance
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function
- Working closely with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, finance, etc.) to understand requirements
- Communicating procurement status, risks, and mitigation actions clearly and proactively
- Supporting sourcing strategy execution aligned with business objectives
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic preferred), or a related field
- Have minimum 6 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain and Experience in Oil and Gas industry. Subsea Equipment knowledge
- Have a Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Have supplier negotiation and relationship management skills
- Have a strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain fundamentals
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Have a problem-solving and analytical ability
- Have an ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Have an attention to detail and process discipline
- Have a team-oriented with a proactive, self-driven mindset
