Job Summary
The Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician will install, inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, and instrumentation systems used in an industrial facility. The I&E Technician will be instrumental in the successful completion, startup, and maintenance of the Baytown UMO/HDT plant. The I&E Technician will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician will install, inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, and instrumentation systems used in an industrial facility. The I&E Technician will be instrumental in the successful completion, startup, and maintenance of the Baytown UMO/HDT plant. The I&E Technician will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities
- The Instrument and Electrical Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing instrumentation and electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot (480v) motors, motor starters, VFDs, MCCs, transformers, circuit breakers, and electrical distribution systems.
- Read P&IDs, loop drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cause-and-effect charts, and equipment manuals.
- Climb ladders, work at heights, enter confined spaces, lift at least 50 pounds, and work outdoors in industrial conditions.
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLC, and Safety Instrumented System operation and troubleshooting.
- Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of NEC requirements, hazardous-area classifications, grounding, bonding, and intrinsically safe systems.
- Requires a high school diploma or graduation from a technical or trade school.
- Typically requires 5-7 years of related experience with a track record of meeting timelines and budgets.
- Committed work ethic, positive attitude, collaborative nature, and eagerness to learn.
- Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to analyze complex systems and data.
- Proficiency in relevant computer programs and diagnostic tools.
