  • Lead and develop Country Credit Managers across multiple European markets.
  • Drive portfolio performance by balancing growth, profitability, and credit risk.
  • Own the relationship between portfolio performance and commercial outcomes.
  • Run regular business reviews with each market and ensure clear accountability for results.
  • Identify risks and opportunities early, ensuring timely actions and decisions.
  • Coach and support experienced credit leaders while fostering collaboration across markets.
  • Review and challenge market proposals related to underwriting, portfolio growth, and policy changes.
  • Represent country credit teams in cross-functional leadership discussions.
  • Translate complex portfolio data into clear business recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Partner with the Credit Strategy team to ensure global models and policies reflect local market realities.
  • Contribute to new market launches and evaluate growth opportunities from both risk and commercial perspectives.

You'll bring:

  • Extensive experience leading consumer lending or credit portfolio teams within fintech, banking, or another credit-driven business.
  • Proven success managing credit portfolios across multiple markets, with strong commercial ownership and measurable business impact.
  • Experience leading senior credit professionals and building high-performing teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills.

You'll also have:

  • A solid understanding of portfolio economics and how credit decisions impact P&L.
  • Experience using data to drive commercial decisions, including SQL or similar analytical tools.
  • Good knowledge of credit risk concepts such as PD, LGD, scorecards, and portfolio performance.
  • The ability to work effectively with Credit Strategy, Risk Analytics, and Data Science teams.

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Combine commercial thinking with sound risk judgment.
  • Enjoy solving complex business challenges using data.
  • Lead with clarity, empathy, and accountability.
  • Stay calm in fast-changing environments and communicate effectively across technical and business teams.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Taktile or similar decision engine platforms.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 9.
  • Experience with broker channel lending.
  • Contribute to Bondora’s ambitious goal of reaching 1BN in revenue. Your skills and efforts will directly impact our growth trajectory and shape the future of our company.
  • Our employees deserve the best. We recognize our people with a competitive salary and a generous benefits package (5 weeks of vacation, private healthcare compensation, hobby grant, mental healthcare support, share options and much more!)
