Principal Systems Engineer - P5

Your responsibilities will include: Provide technical leadership and system-level expertise for the design, development, integration, and commercialization of complex medical device systems. Manage technical execution by identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving complex system integration issues while communicating technical progress, risks, and recommendations to key stakeholders. Develop and apply analytical methods, including modeling, simulation, mathematical analysis, and system characterization, to solve complex engineering problems and drive corrective actions. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline. Minimum of 10 years' experience with a bachelor's degree, or minimum of 8 years' experience with a master's degree. Experience defining system architectures and developing complex multidisciplinary systems integrating hardware, software, electrical, and mechanical components. Experience in leading complex system analysis from concept through commercialization. Proficiency with requirements management and traceability tools (e.g., Jama, Code Beamer, Jira, or equivalent). Demonstrated expertise in requirements engineering, including requirements development, decomposition, allocation, and traceability. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Experience with laser systems, optical technologies, or applied optics in the design and development of medical devices. MS/PhD in Engineering or Systems Engineering or related discipline. 5 or more years of experience in a formal Systems Engineering role. Medical Device industry experience in design controls with a focus on user needs, intended use, system requirements, system design, and traceability. Experience with risk management, including the identification of effective risk controls. Experience in human factors engineering, usability, or ergonomic design. Experience defining and implementing cybersecurity requirements and secure-by-design principles for connected medical devices. Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional technical teams and high-visibility, strategic product development initiatives.
