Finance Director
Quick Summary
lead, structure and develop colleagues across locations; set priorities around the close calendar; review output; manage performance and capability; and hire as the group grows.
Our client is an international B2B sportsbook product business operating across multiple countries and legal entities. Its finance function supports a group spanning several jurisdictions, currencies, tax regimes and reporting calendars while the commercial side of the business continues to move quickly.
This is a hands-on leadership role with end-to-end ownership of the day-to-day finance function and the team that delivers it. You will remain close to the ledger, the numbers and the CFO: reviewing consolidation, working directly with auditors and stepping into the detail when a close is tight.
The opportunity will suit someone who wants full ownership of a multi-entity finance operation and is comfortable strengthening structure, controls and capability as the business grows. It is not a role for somebody looking to lead purely through others.
- Substantial hands-on accounting experience in a multi-entity, multi-country group, including personally running consolidation, intercompany and cross-border reporting.
- Full-cycle exposure across close, statutory reporting, tax, treasury, accounts receivable and payable, and management reporting.
- Experience in a B2B business with contracted clients and commercial models such as revenue share, licence and integration fees, and milestone billing.
- Proven experience managing a finance team, including hiring, developing and holding people accountable across locations and time zones.
- The judgement and resilience to operate where structure is still being built and to fix processes that are not yet clean.
- A professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA or CIMA, a local equivalent, or equivalent depth of practical experience.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- The willingness and ability to relocate to Sofia and work from the office full-time. This is a firm requirement.
- Experience within iGaming or sportsbook on the supplier or B2B side, including operator invoicing, regulated-market requirements and licensing obligations.
- Experience implementing or upgrading an ERP or accounting system.
- Experience supporting audit, due diligence or a transaction process.
- Experience automating finance processes.
- Take genuine end-to-end ownership of an international, multi-entity finance operation.
- Work closely with the CFO and executive team while remaining empowered to improve the detail.
- Build the team, controls and systems required for the next stage of the business.
- Gain broad exposure across accounting, treasury, tax, regulation, commercial models and business partnering.
- Join a fast-moving, technology-led B2B sportsbook business with international reach.
