Lead Cook

We're seeking a Full-Time Lead Cook to oversee daily meal preparation and help lead our kitchen team at the DeKalb County Jail in Auburn, Indiana.

• Starting at $18.00 per hour

• Full-time, year-round employment
• Shifts between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
• Rotating weekends and holidays

We're looking for someone who:

• Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and a positive attitude
• Enjoys leading and supporting others
• Thrives in a structured correctional environment
• Can follow standardized recipes and food production procedures
• Is able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Takes pride in preparing quality meals and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen

As a Lead Cook, you'll help ensure our kitchen operates efficiently by:

• →Supervising and assisting with daily food preparation
• →Preparing, cooking, and baking meals according to company standards
• →Training and supporting kitchen team members
• →Maintaining food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
• →Assisting with kitchen clean-up and organization
• →Helping deliver consistent meal service every day

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to obtain facility security clearance
• Flexibility to work assigned shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Previous food service experience is helpful-but we're happy to train motivated individuals with the right attitude and work ethic.
