Position Overview

We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Seafood Associate to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing, merchandising, and maintaining fresh seafood products while providing customers with knowledgeable service, product information, and cooking recommendations. This position plays an important role in supporting the success of our Seafood Department by ensuring quality products, excellent presentation, and an exceptional experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient customer service to all customers.
• Prepare, package, label, and merchandise fresh seafood products according to company standards.
• Assist customers by answering seafood-related questions and providing cooking tips and product recommendations.
• Maintain attractive, well-stocked seafood displays while ensuring proper product rotation and freshness.
• Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and seafood handling procedures.
• Operate department equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other seafood preparation tools.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
• Learn about seafood products, preparation methods, and department procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in seafood, meat cutting, food service, grocery, or retail preferred.
• Knife skills and/or previous cutting experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop product knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be available to work mornings, daytime shifts, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in a multi-temperature environment, including refrigerated areas.
