Civil Designer

To work in a dynamic Public Works Department. The ability to work independently and with others on design projects to support Engineering and Management.

Essential Functions

With limited assistance from others, setup and produce construction plans in Civil3D for the City of Houston, Harris County, and the surrounding communities, from start to finish, for the design of roadways; water lines (small and large diameter); gravity sanitary sewer and force mains; lift stations; storm sewer; detention basins; water tanks; Flood Control projects; site projects; hike and bike trails; traffic control and phasing plans; grading; etc.

Job Requirements

• 5 to 20+ years of actual design experience or demonstration of equivalent abilities

• Proficiency in Civil3D

• Be comfortable performing in a deadline-oriented environment

• Ability to perform quality work efficiently, with attention to detail, with or without instruction

• Take ownership of assigned work

• Good attitude with friendly demeanor

• Work in an office environment (cubicle, no working from home)

• 4.5-day workweek (M-Th 7:30 – 5:30; F 7:30 – 11:30)
