The career coach will be responsible for creating and delivering comprehensive coaching programs tailored to our clients' unique needs. These programs will encompass both group coaching sessions and one-on-one coaching to ensure a holistic approach to career development. Background Career Bridge is a Talent management company that focuses on Career coaching and Human Resource Management (HRM) consulting. We are a dynamic and innovative team that is committed to supporting individuals in their journey to professional success. We are seeking an experienced Certified Career Coach to join our team and make a meaningful impact on the career development of our clients. Client Portfolio We work with clients at various stages of their career journey starting from high school students, college/university students, fresh graduates, young working professionals, mid and senior level professionals, all the way to retirement. This role will require you to predominantly roll out programmes targeting high school students and college/university students to support their early career development and successful transition to work. Position: Certified Career Coach Experience: 3 years Location: Nairobi, Kenya. Job Type: Hybrid Requirements Establishing long-term career plans with clients, including setting goals and creating action plans to reach those goals. Lead group coaching sessions and workshops on a variety of career-related topics, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment. Create, implement, and continuously improve career coaching programs to meet the evolving needs of our clients. Providing career coaching services to individuals who are experiencing difficulties in their career journey that may be affecting their work performance and work delivery. Developing job search strategies and providing instruction on how to write compelling resumes and cover letters. Conduct a skills and experience analysis to identify individual strengths, weaknesses, and areas for growth to tailor coaching programs effectively. Doing constant follow ups on the client to maintain the coaching relationship to ensure progress toward goals. Suggesting changes to work environments or schedules to improve productivity or reduce stress. Assisting clients in planning strategic career moves and developing leadership skills. Reviewing clients’ resumes and cover letters and providing feedback. Rehearsing job interview tactics with clients and offering advice. Holding seminars and workshops to provide career development skills for individuals searching for the right career path. Guiding clients who desire to make a career change. Administering psychometric tests and skills assessments to help determine clients’ interests and talents. Recommending additional education to help clients achieve their career goals. Assisting clients with job search skills, making contact with prospective employers, and completing job applications. Helping clients conquer habits that prevent job advancement. Answering client questions concerning details about different careers. Advising students on courses to prepare for a particular career. Assisting students in choosing colleges that match their career choices and locate financial aid. Providing one-on-one coaching sessions, guiding clients on career planning, job search strategies, and personal branding. Leading group coaching sessions and workshops on career-related topics, fostering a supportive learning environment. Creating, implementing, and improving career coaching programs to meet clients' evolving needs. Tracking and evaluating client progress, adjusting coaching strategies as necessary. Staying informed about industry trends, job market dynamics, and emerging career development tools and resources. Core Competencies: Active Listening – the coach should be able to listen attentively to clients, empathize with their concerns, and understand their needs. Communication Skills – the coach should be effective at their verbal and written communication to convey ideas, provide feedback, and inspire clients to take action. Empathy – the coach should have the capacity to understand the feelings and perspectives of clients, fostering trust and rapport. Questioning and Inquiry – the coach should have the craft of asking the clients thought-provoking questions to encourage self-reflection and exploration of career goals. Goal Setting – the coach should assist clients in setting clear, achievable career goals and objectives. Problem solving – the coach should be able to help clients identify and resolve career-related challenges. Feedback and Analysis – the coach should have the capability to provide constructive feedback and skills analysis to help clients understand their strengths and areas for improvement. Time Management – manage the coaching sessions and clients' progress effectively. Confidentiality – the coach should ensure the confidentiality of client information and maintain ethical standards. Cultural Competency – the coach should appreciate and respect cultural differences and how they influence career choices. Technical Competencies: Career Development Knowledge – the coach should have an in-depth understanding of career development theories and practices including career choice strategies. Industry Expertise – the coach should be familiar with the various industries and the job market, including job trends and demands. Resume and Cover Letter Writing – the coach should have proficiency in crafting effective resumes, cover letters, and job application materials. Interview Coaching – the coach should have the skills in preparing clients for job interviews, including conducting mock interviews. Networking Strategies – the coach should have the Knowledge of effective networking strategies to help clients build professional relationships. Job Search Techniques – the coach should have Expertise in job search strategies, such as online job boards, company research, and job application processes. Assessment Tools – the coach should have Familiarity with career assessment tools and tests to evaluate clients' skills, interests, and values. Online Professional Branding – the coach should be well versed with LinkedIn and have an understanding of how to create and maintain a strong online professional presence. Digital Coaching Tools – the coach should be proficient in using coaching software and digital platforms to conduct virtual coaching sessions such as Zoom, Google meets, etc. Certifications and Training – the coach should be well-trained, equipped with coaching materials in career development and have a Career Coaching certifications from a well-known body. Data Analysis and job market knowledge – the coach should be up to date with the Job trends and labor market data to provide informed career advice. Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s or master's degree program in Human Resource, Psychology, Education of a related discipline. At least 2 years’ experience in Career Coaching. Experience working with high school and college student’s career programs is an added advantage. Have a professional license or certification by reputable organizations such as international coach Federation (ICF), Career Development Institute (CDI), etc. Excellent communication and active listening abilities. Excellent time management skills.
