Here are some key benefits of being in a talent pool: Linkage to employers Access to Opportunities and skill matching Networking Career Development Position: Education in Emergencies Officer – Junior Level (Global Talent Pool) Experience: 1 - 3 years Location: Global Industries: Humanitarian, NGO, INGO Responsibilities Assist in translating global education objectives and strategic directions into regional or national guidance, strategies, and priorities, in collaboration with the supervisor and the Education Section Engage, promote, and foster partnerships/collaboration with national education stakeholders and bodies in line with GCR. Support and provide technical advice to senior management and Policy and Development staff allowing for advocacy activities with States and international organizations on all issues related to education programmes and strategic directions. Participate in national humanitarian and development sector working groups to ensure that all education support programming at the country level is extended, amplified, and reported against sector development goals and humanitarian partners and funding serves system strengthening. Assist the Country Office(s) to elaborate and implement strategies to address issues related to education access, quality and data, in cooperation with other UN agencies and other key education stakeholders. Assist the supervisor in monitoring the implementation of education programmes and guide orientation. Assist in the planning and coordination of roles concerning education. Assist with the development and dissemination of relevant tools to support our staff and partners within the AoR. Support the active exchange of information and that best practices are identified, documented, and disseminated both within the AoR and beyond. Assist in monitoring and documenting human rights violations and abuses, including cases of discrimination, violence, and exploitation, in collaboration with local partners and stakeholders. Participate in relevant coordination meetings, working groups, and inter-agency forums to ensure alignment with national and international protection standards and guidelines. Provide support in the delivery of psychosocial support services, legal assistance, and access to essential services for beneficiaries. Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support to the protection and human rights team, including organizing meetings, maintaining databases, and other duties as assigned. Support reviewing internal guidance and policy papers. Perform other related duties as required. Requirements Core Competencies Passion for Humanitarian Work Interpersonal Skills Adaptability Proactive Attitude Problem-Solving Skills Cultural Sensitivity Technical Competencies: Education and Development Data Collection and Analysis Project Support Communication Skills Computer Skills Qualifications/Requirements: Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience with an Undergraduate degree Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, international development, humanitarian affairs, or related field. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a positive and collaborative attitude. Strong interpersonal skills in collaboration and coordination. Strong communication/presentation skills. Demonstrated capacity to work with minimum supervision. For International Professional and Field Service jobs: Knowledge of English and the UN working language of the duty station if not English. For National Professional jobs: Knowledge of English and UN working language of the duty station if not English and local language. For General Service jobs: Knowledge of English and/or UN working language of the duty station if not English.
