Here are some key benefits of being in a talent pool: Linkage to employers Access to Opportunities and skill matching Networking Career Development Position: Gender and Inclusion Mid-level (Global Talent Pool) Experience: 3–7 years Location: Multiple (Kenya and Global) Industries: Multiple Roles within the Talent Pool include, but are not limited to: Gender Specialist Gender Advisor Gender Program Manager Gender Research and Policy Analyst Gender Equality Coordinator Women's Empowerment Officer Gender-Based Violence Specialist Diversity and Inclusion Manager Social Inclusion Coordinator LGBTQ+ Rights Advocate Gender Equality Program Manager: Advocacy Officer (Gender) Gender and Inclusion Trainer Research Officer (Gender) Responsibilities Lead independently to design, plan, and manage gender equality and inclusion programs. This may involve conducting needs assessments, developing program budgets, and writing proposals to secure funding. Oversee the day-to-day operations of GEI programs, including staff supervision, resource allocation, and ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets. Lead the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) process for assigned programs. This involves developing M&E frameworks, collecting and analyzing data, and reporting on program outcomes and impacts related to gender equality. Serve as a resource person on gender equality for colleagues and program teams. This may involve conducting gender analyses of programs, policies, and projects and identifying strategies to promote gender mainstreaming. Design and deliver training workshops on GEI concepts, tools, and best practices. Train staff, partners, and community members on topics like gender-responsive programming, working with marginalized groups, and preventing gender-based violence. Lead the development and implementation of advocacy strategies to promote gender equality and influence policy change. This may involve building relationships with policymakers, government officials, and civil society organizations. Design and implement gender-sensitive monitoring and evaluation frameworks, tools, and methodologies to track progress, measure impact, and assess outcomes of gender and inclusion interventions. Establish and maintain strategic partnerships and alliances with government agencies, NGOs, UN agencies, donors, and other stakeholders to leverage resources, expertise, and support for gender and inclusion programming. Represent the organization in relevant networks, coalitions, and forums focused on gender equality, women's empowerment, and social inclusion, advocating for collaborative action and collective impact. Coordinate joint initiatives, campaigns, and advocacy efforts with partners to amplify voices, promote solidarity, and drive positive change on gender and inclusion issues. Oversee the budgeting, financial management, and expenditure tracking of gender and inclusion projects to ensure efficient and accountable use of resources. Conduct and commission research studies, assessments, and evaluations on gender-related topics, generating evidence and insights to inform program design, policy advocacy, and organizational learning. Publish research findings, policy briefs, and academic papers on gender and inclusion issues, contributing to thought leadership and advancing discourse in the field. Develop and implement communication strategies and campaigns to raise awareness, promote behavior change, and mobilize support for gender equality, women's rights, and social inclusion. Produce and disseminate communication materials, multimedia content, and advocacy messages targeting diverse audiences, including policymakers, media, donors, and the general public. Utilize digital platforms, social media, and traditional media channels to amplify voices, share stories of change, and foster dialogue on gender and inclusion priorities and achievements. Advocacy and Sensitization Inclusive Leadership Knowledge of Legal Frameworks on gender, equity and inclusion Conflict resolution and mediation Data collection and analysis Training and facilitation skills Partnership and Networking Qualifications/Requirements: An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant field of the social sciences, such as political science, public policy, sociology, gender studies, economics, or public administration. 3–7 years of relevant professional experience in gender and inclusion mainstreaming with a track record of policy analysis, advocacy, and strategic planning. Recognized expertise in governance, anti-corruption, gender and inclusion, corruption and discrimination, and inclusive policy analysis. Experience in providing training, capacity building, technical assistance, and quality control to project stakeholders or on applied research projects. Ability to lead efforts in incorporating gender-inclusive and anti-discriminatory approaches into projects and programs.
