Here are some key benefits of being in a talent pool: Linkage to employers Access to Opportunities and skill matching Networking Career Development Position: Livelihoods and Food Security Mid-level (Talent Pool) Experience: 3- 7 years Location: Multiple (Kenya and Global) Industries: Multiple Responsibilities: Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of livelihoods and food security projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements. Oversee the design and development of project proposals, work plans, and monitoring frameworks, in collaboration with project teams and partners. Conduct assessments, surveys, and data collection activities to gather information on livelihoods, food security, and related issues, and analyze findings to inform project design and decision-making. Engage with project beneficiaries, community leaders, and local stakeholders to ensure their meaningful participation in project activities and decision-making processes. Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and partners on livelihoods diversification, agricultural practices, food security concepts, and community-based interventions. Lead the monitoring and evaluation of project activities, including tracking progress against project indicators, documenting lessons learned, and contributing to project reporting. Build and maintain partnerships with donors, government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to mobilize resources, coordinate response efforts, and advocate for the rights and needs of affected communities. Stay informed about developments and best practices in the fields of livelihoods and food security, and contribute ideas for innovation and improvement. Support capacity building initiatives for project staff, partners, and community members, including organizing training sessions, workshops, and community meetings on relevant topics. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as donor requirements, throughout the project lifecycle. Requirements Core Competencies: Leadership Strategic planning Project management Team management Communication Problem-solving Decision-making Collaboration Adaptability Time management Technical Competencies: Livelihoods assessment and analysis Food security concepts and methodologies Agricultural practices and technologies Community development and engagement Market analysis and value chain development Monitoring and evaluation Proposal development and donor reporting Partnership development and management Capacity building and training Knowledge of relevant policies and frameworks (e.g., humanitarian standards, sustainable development goals) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in fields such as Agriculture, Development Studies, Economics, Environmental Science, or related areas. Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in humanitarian aid, development, or related fields, with a focus on livelihoods and food security programming. Demonstrated understanding of livelihoods and food security concepts, as well as the challenges faced by vulnerable populations in accessing food and income opportunities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and propose practical solutions to address complex challenges. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications. Fluency in English is typically required, with proficiency in other languages relevant to the geographical context of operations being advantageous.
