Associate Director, Incident Response

The Associate Director, Incident Response (IR) is responsible for leading key portfolios within ADL’s centralized IR operations, ensuring effective triage, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven response strategies. This role will specialize in some of the following areas: Extremism, Technology.

• Lead cross-functional incident response efforts within assigned portfolio, ensuring effective triage, management, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
• Serve as a liaison and subject matter expert, collaborating with key internal and external partners, including field and CSC teams, community partners, and advocacy groups.
• Maintain current IR Team AI workflows, assistants, and technology initiatives.
• Manage data analysis and reporting daily operations and special initiatives, ensuring accurate tracking of trends, which may include but not limited to antisemitism, extremism, and/or K-12 and campus issues.
• In coordination with internal subject matter experts and operations teams, employ a data driven approach and develop best practices for incident and crisis response.
• Coordinate incident response national initiatives, ensuring appropriate escalation of incidents to policy teams, legal counsel, or law enforcement and extremism staff.

• Develop and implement knowledge management initiatives to ensure standardized processes across all parts of incident response portfolio.
• Represent the IR team in internal forums, trainings, and strategic partnership meetings.
• Support the development of new reporting mechanisms, including AI tools, digital outreach, and incident documentation systems.
• Contribute to team training and onboarding efforts, ensuring standardized incident response protocols.
• Assist in crisis coordination and all-hands on deck crisis response efforts

• Proficiency in developing and executing incident response strategies, leading crisis communications and management, and full-cycle management of incidents
• Proficiency in AI workflows, systems, assistants, and skill building.
• Strong background in independent and collaborative work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

• Experience with crisis and high impact incident communications and response
• Cross-functional collaboration with internal and external partners
• Data analysis and reporting on incident trends in assigned portfolio

• The ideal candidate has several years’ experience of incident response, advocacy, education policy, communications, or extremism research with a demonstrable increase in responsibility managing and collaborating with cross-functional teams, projects and partnerships. 

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Communications) or related field, or equivalent experience required.

• ADL is a hybrid environment; this role will require 3 days in the office.
