As a Water Design Lead – Project Manager, you will lead the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects from concept through construction. This role is aligned with either our Stormwater Design Team or our Water / Wastewater Design Team, depending on your technical background and experience.

You will serve as a technical and project delivery leader within your specialty, while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team that supports roadway, structural, geotechnical, and utility components as needed.

At Consor, you’ll work in a collaborative, flexible environment that values leadership, initiative, and professional growth. This role provides opportunities to strengthen client relationships, mentor emerging engineers, and contribute to the continued growth of our water-focused practices.

  • Hydraulic and hydrologic (H&H) modeling and drainage studies
  • Stormwater management systems and municipal drainage infrastructure
  • Floodplain analysis and FEMA coordination

We know career growth is not always linear or streamlined—it’s often dynamic. You may want to explore a management track, try a new technical track, or move laterally to reposition your skills and talents. No matter what level you join us at or how you want to shape your career, we want Consor to be a place where you can learn and grow.

This role emphasizes technical leadership, quality control, and coordination, rather than performing detailed design across every discipline.

  • Coordinate closely with roadway, structural, geotechnical, and utility disciplines
  • Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittals, and field coordination
  • Assist with resolving construction-related issues as needed
  • Mentor and supervise engineers and designers within your project teams
  • Perform technical reviews and uphold quality control standards
  • Foster professional development and knowledge sharing within your design team

  • 8+ years of experience in stormwater, water & wastewater, or water resources engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
  • Strong technical foundation aligned with your design team focus:
    • Hydrology, hydraulics, and drainage or
    • Municipal water and wastewater infrastructure
  • Proficiency in OpenRoads, Civil 3D, and/or AutoCAD(OpenRoads preferred; training available)
  • Experience with HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS, SWMM, StormCAD, or similar tools (preferred, not required)
  • FEMA floodplain mapping and agency coordination experience (preferred)
  • UDOT or Mountain West municipal project experience (a plus)
  • Proven ability to lead teams, communicate with clients, and manage projects effectively

  • This job operates between an office environment and some project site visits. Routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines. May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.• While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. This job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
