Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Engineer or Scientist for our environmental, health, and safety (EHS) Compliance and Performance and Due Diligence Practice in our Lakewood, Greenwood Village, Broomfield, or Colorado Springs, Colorado office. The position will dig into the details of EHS regulatory compliance and performance and EHS and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) due diligence, working closely with seasoned EHS and sustainability professionals, attorneys, and clients, while further developing the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Responsibilities

  • →Providing EHS compliance and performance management services, such as audits and reviews (multi-media) of compliance and performance management programs and development and implementation of EHS management systems;
  • →Developing compliance documents and permit applications associated with the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), and other regulatory programs;
  • →Providing litigation and regulatory enforcement support services, including hazardous waste and hazardous materials management;
  • →Supporting projects involving due diligence including ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments;
  • →Managing tasks or projects, developing business, and mentoring earlier career staff, based on your current level of experience; and
  • →Driving personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, earth science (geology or hydrology), chemistry, environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required) 
  • Advanced degree in environmental engineering. (preferred) 
  • Professional registration (i.e., PE, PG). (preferred)

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in an EHS consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) 
  • Project experience involving EHS regulatory compliance, historical research, and environmental assessment. (preferred)
  • Experience working on demanding, sophisticated, and legally-sensitive projects. (preferred)
  • Detailed regulatory knowledge, especially CAA, CWA, RCRA and EPCRA. (preferred)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Regular fieldwork and overnight travel. (required).
  • Health and safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required) 

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $80,860/year / Maximum Salary: $120,685 /year (Lakewood, Greenwood Village, Broomfield, Colorado Springs, CO)
