Project Manager Sales
Quick Summary
Overview ST Engineering iDirect's MCC Electronics is a contract electronics manufacturer specialising in high-complexity PCB assembly and systems integration for defence, medical, and space markets.
Intake and triage — Every incoming request enters through a single, structured process that you manage. You categorise, prioritise, and route work so that nothing lands randomly on someone's desk and no request falls through the cracks.
You have three to five years of experience in a coordination, operations, or customer-facing role in a manufacturing, electronics, or industrial B2B environment.
ST Engineering iDirect's MCC Electronics is a contract electronics manufacturer specialising in high-complexity PCB assembly and systems integration for defence, medical, and space markets. We are a technically excellent team going through a transformation of scaling up our the commercial and operational infrastructure to match the quality of our manufacturing capability.
The Project Manager - Sales is central to that transformation. You will be the operational backbone of our commercial team — the person who ensures every customer request is handled with structure, speed, and clarity. You own the flow of work from the moment a request arrives to the moment it is resolved. You help build the processes that currently don't exist, document the ones that do, and protect the team from the reactive chaos that comes with growth in a complex manufacturing environment.
This is not a role for someone who needs a fully defined job to step into. It is a role for someone who sees a gap and fills it — and who finds genuine satisfaction in making a team around them more effective every day.
Responsibilities
~2 min readIntake and triage — Every incoming request enters through a single, structured process that you manage. You categorise, prioritise, and route work so that nothing lands randomly on someone's desk and no request falls through the cracks.
Order and project coordination — You track every active order from receipt to delivery confirmation. You run the weekly rhythm with production, flag at-risk deliveries before they become problems, and ensure customers receive proactive updates rather than reactive apologies.
Quotation coordination — You ensure every quotation request is complete and properly briefed before it enters the quoting process. You track turnaround times, spot bottlenecks, and work with purchasing to ensure BOM costs are accurate and available when needed. You are not writing the quotes — you are making sure the people who do can work without interruption or missing information.
Customer account operations — You are the operational point of contact for a defined portfolio of accounts. You maintain account-specific knowledge — lead times, preferences, escalation contacts — and ensure continuity of communication between sales conversations.
Purchasing interface — You coordinate the structured handoff between commercial requests and the purchasing team. BOM briefs are complete, turnaround expectations are clear, and component pricing flows into quotations without delay or manual workaround.
Process building — You document what works, fix what doesn't, and build standard operating procedures for recurring tasks — not for the sake of process, but because better process means less firefighting and more time for work that matters.
Requirements
~1 min readWhat you bring
You have three to five years of experience in a coordination, operations, or customer-facing role in a manufacturing, electronics, or industrial B2B environment. EMS or PCB assembly background is an advantage, but we care more about your instincts than your specific sector. You understand how factories work: lead times, material constraints, the difference between what a customer wants and what production can realistically commit to.
You are comfortable with ERP systems and digital task management tools. You have managed multiple workstreams simultaneously without losing track of the details that matter.
How you work
You are calm when things are busy and bring structure to disorganised situations without needing everything to be perfect before you act. You communicate clearly with customers, with production, and with a sales team — adjusting your register depending on who you are talking to. You have a strong ownership instinct: you track things to completion, follow up without being asked, and feel personally responsible for outcomes even when you are not the final decision-maker.
