Resorts Atlantic City is seeking a hands-on, on-premise 5 days a week Network Administrator to help keep our enterprise network infrastructure secure, resilient, available, and performing at a high level. This role is responsible for the administration, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, and continuous improvement of network services supporting a 24x7 hospitality and gaming operation.

The Network Administrator works across the property, including data centers, MDFs, IDFs, offices, guest-facing areas, and other operational locations. The role combines day-to-day network administration with infrastructure projects, security and compliance activities, vendor coordination, documentation, and proactive network improvement.

 

This position requires hands-on work in network and operational areas throughout the property. The role includes frequent walking and sitting, occasional standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, and climbing stairs. The position may require occasional climbing of ladders and working at heights up to 12 feet, as well as lifting equipment up to 40 pounds. The role operates in a fast-paced environment and may require work during scheduled maintenance windows, after-hours, or emergency events.

 

Our network is a critical foundation for a 24x7 hospitality and gaming operation. The Network Administrator plays a direct role in maintaining the connectivity, security, performance, and resilience that allow our property and technology teams to operate reliably.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure network capacity meets existing and future requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration.
  • Oversee all reports and documentation related to supported systems
  • Develop proactive maintenance schedules for network equipment
  • Develop Disaster Recovery plans, procedures, and processes for network area.
  • Create and maintain the enterprise’s security architecture design.
  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all network equipment.
  • Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation.
  • Oversee projects and project portfolio for network area
  • Design and enforce request handling and escalation policies and procedures.
  • Manage all network security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs.
  • Ensure network connectivity of all workstations.
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Perform server and security audits.
  • Perform system backups and recovery.
  • Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot LAN/WAN/WLAN related issues.
  • Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.
  • Select and acquire additional security solutions or enhancements to existing security solutions to improve overall enterprise security
  • Responds to all system security weak points and partners with other teams and third party vendors to resolve security issues.
  • Promotes positive public relations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Four-year university degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Industry certifications in networking, cybersecurity, cloud, or related areas are desired.
  • Casino gaming, hospitality or other 24x7 operational environment experience is desirable.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on enterprise network administration experience in a complex, high-availability environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco enterprise networking hardware and software.
  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewall/security platforms and Ruckus wireless infrastructure is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience administering and troubleshooting LAN, WAN, WLAN, VLANs, routing, switching, VPN, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, wireless networking, and network resiliency/redundancy.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, subnetting, routing and switching protocols, network segmentation, wireless standards, and Internet/network services.
  • Experience with network configuration management, configuration backups, recovery testing, change management, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with network security principles, firewall administration, secure remote access, network segmentation, security monitoring, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Working knowledge of PCI DSS and NIST Cybersecurity Framework principles.
  • Experience with network and system auditing, security assessment techniques, and infrastructure compliance requirements.
  • Excellent hardware and network troubleshooting skills, including structured problem diagnosis and root-cause analysis.
  • Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.
  • Working knowledge of data center physical infrastructure requirements, including rack power, UPS and redundant power considerations, rack density, cooling, cabling, and physical security.

    • You communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • You can prioritize and execute work in a high-pressure, fast-paced, 24x7 environment.
    • You work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with IT management, technical teams, business users, and third-party vendors.
    • You research technical issues, evaluate alternatives, and recommend practical solutions.
    • You maintain a strong customer-service orientation and professional demeanor.
