Mining Intern

As a Silvi Materials Mining Intern, you will have the opportunity to tap into the world of rock quarry mining. You will report to our experienced mining manager. Your 10–12-week experience will include everything from learning the aggregate business, field visits to our other mines (Sand), and hands-on heavy equipment/plant maintenance. The goal of the Mining Internship is to provide individuals with a hands-on approach to the aggregates mining industry.

• →Enrollment or achievement of a collegiate program preferably in the fields of Mining Engineering, Concrete Industry Management, Civil Engineering, General Engineering, Construction Management, or Materials Science required. 
• →Valid Driver’s License

In a typical work setting, people in this job:

• Lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds on occasion.
• Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, stretch, twist or crawl.
• Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
• See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
• See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
