Ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, and indirect purchases to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations while achieving quality, cost, service, and working capital objectives.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Execute purchasing activities for raw materials, packaging materials, and indirect purchases in accordance with approved procurement plans and business requirements.
- Convert material planning requirements into purchase orders while ensuring material availability and minimizing stock shortages or excess inventory.
- Monitor purchase order progress and coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply and consistent service levels.
- Monitor supplier performance against quality, delivery, responsiveness, and commercial commitments.
- Support supplier qualification and the identification of alternative sourcing opportunities to mitigate supply risks.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and commercial conditions to optimize total procurement cost.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining required quality and service standards.
- Support annual supplier negotiations and contract renewals.
- Monitor local and international market trends, commodity prices, and supply conditions to support informed purchasing decisions.
- Assess market risks and recommend appropriate mitigation actions.
- Collaborate closely with Planning, Production, Quality, Warehousing, Finance, and Logistics to ensure seamless supply chain execution.
- Support inventory optimization initiatives through effective purchasing decisions and supplier coordination.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, delegated authority limits, and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and ERP data.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in raw material and packaging procurement is preferred.
- Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing procurement cycles.
