Technologist Laboratory - Hematology Genetics

Under supervision by department leadership, performs CLIA regulated and clinical contract research testing. Interacts with customers, providing a high level of customer service to resolve customer concerns about sample acceptability and results. Supports preparation of laboratory reagents and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment. Supports the training of junior and peer staff members. Performs higher level interpretation of testing results and test panels.

• →Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in biology, chemistry, molecular biology, immunology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or related field. required
• →Associate's Degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution. required

• 1-3 years pertinent laboratory experience and/or training required
• Mastery of Associate Technologist duties, responsibilities, and behaviors. required

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other department manuals.
• Must have basic mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to apply judgment to written or oral instructions.
• Ability to organize work to provide efficient and productive workflow.
• Flexibility to work independently and with a team.
• Must have strong attention to detail.
• Must have good communication skills, including the ability to provide constructive criticism to fellow employees.
• Possess legible handwriting.

• Lab/department specific equipment, including, but not limited to: • Pipettes (single channel, multi-channel, electronic, etc.). • Centrifuges, freezers, refrigerators • pH meter, microscopes, balances. • Flow Cytometry based equipment • Spectrophotometer • qPCR Instrumentation • Thermal Cycler • Gel Electrophoresis • Sequencer • Aggregometer • Automated instruments (hematology counter, DNA isolator, plate washer, Coagulation analyzer, etc.). preferred
