Modernisation Estimator

The Modernisation Estimator is responsible for developing accurate, competitive and commercially sound cost estimates and proposals for building services retrofit and upgrade projects. Working closely with Business Development Managers (BDMs), service teams, suppliers and subcontractors, the role supports the growth of the Modernisation business by providing timely pricing, technical assessments and bid support across a range of projects.

The position will focus on retro-fit and upgrade opportunities including HVAC plant replacement, chiller upgrades, mechanical services refurbishments, controls and tenancy fit-outs, energy efficiency projects and critical infrastructure upgrades.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge, commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills to convert opportunities into profitable project wins.

  Prepare accurate cost estimates, quotations and tender submissions for modernisation and retrofit projects.

  Review technical documentation, site assessments, specifications and customer requirements.

  Develop detailed material, labour, subcontractor and equipment costings.

  Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.

  Identify project risks and opportunities during the estimating phase.

  Develop value engineering solutions that improve project competitiveness and customer outcomes.

  Maintain estimating templates, cost databases and benchmarking information. Required Competencies & Qualifications

• Technical Excellence - Demonstrates strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, controls and retrofit methodologies.
