Career Specialist: Marketing, Communication, Arts & Culture

The Aspire Center at Carthage College seeks a dynamic Career Specialist to support students in academic areas such as Marketing, Communication, Art, Design, Theater, Music, Languages, and Cultural Studies.

This role helps students explore careers, gain real-world experience, and prepare for life after graduation through advising, programming, and partnerships across campus and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

● Advise students on career planning, experiential learning, graduate school, and professional development.
● Collaborate with faculty and staff to deliver programming aligned with creativity, entrepreneurship, leadership, and career development.
● Coordinate events, site visits, and student engagement with My Aspire Plan (MAP).
● Leverage alumni and employer networks to expand opportunities.
● Promote the Aspire Program to prospective and current students.
● Teach a section of the College Success Seminar (fall); potential to teach a January Term course.
● Occasionally transport students to off-site visits (12-passenger van).

Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
● Relevant industry or advising experience strongly preferred
● Strong communication and tech skills (Adobe Suite, databases, etc.)
● Ability to work with diverse populations and across generations
● Available for occasional evening/weekend hours
● Valid driver's license with a clean record
