About the Job:

CHANEL is looking for a Senior Manager, Retail Performance & Insights, MBR to join our Fragrance & Beauty Retail Excellence team in New York. This role is responsible for translating Multi-Brand Retail performance into clear business insight, commercial priorities and recommended actions.

The Senior Manager leads MBR commercial sales planning, objective-setting, KPI development, performance reporting and business intelligence within the overall Retail performance framework. The role helps Retail leaders understand what is happening, why it matters and where action is required, combining quantitative analysis with retailer, market and field context.

This position serves as the MBR business owner for performance dashboards and reporting, defining requirements, priorities, user needs and measures of success in partnership with technical report builders and data owners. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, commercially minded and able to turn complex information into a clear performance narrative and practical recommendations.

What impact you can create at CHANEL:

  • Lead MBR commercial sales planning and KPI development within the overall Retail performance framework established by the Group Director
  • Develop door-level and monthly MBR sales plans, objectives and measures aligned with broader business priorities
  • Lead the creation and communication of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual MBR performance recaps
  • Turn complex performance data into a clear business narrative, explaining material drivers, detractors, risks and opportunities
  • Combine quantitative analysis with retailer, market, door, category, competitive and field context to provide a complete view of performance
  • Translate insights into clear recommended actions, owners and measures of success
  • Lead the MBR performance-to-action cadence, tracking agreed actions and surfacing risks, dependencies or decisions
  • Provide analysis and recommendations across retailers, markets, doors, categories and relevant client or productivity measures
  • Partner with MBR Retail leadership, Planning and Commercial Development to ensure recommendations reflect retailer strategy and business realities
  • Provide interpretation and recommendations on goal achievement, incentive plans, contests and sales initiatives designed for the MBR business
  • Serve as the MBR business owner for performance dashboards, defining requirements, priorities, user needs and measures of success
  • Partner with technical report builders and data owners to improve dashboard usability, accuracy, relevance and data integrity
  • Establish an effective support and governance model for MBR reporting, Power BI usage, data interpretation and issue resolution
  • Identify opportunities to simplify reporting, reduce manual work and improve access to decision-relevant information
  • Ensure market-tour and senior-leadership materials provide a clear, accurate and decision-relevant MBR performance narrative
  • Surface risks and opportunities to the Group Director with a clear recommendation

You are energized by…

  • Turning complex data into clear insights and business recommendations
  • Understanding the drivers behind performance, not only reporting the result
  • Connecting retailer, market and field context to quantitative analysis
  • Building commercial plans, objectives and KPIs that create focus and accountability
  • Helping business leaders move from insight to action
  • Improving dashboards and reporting so information is accurate, relevant and easier to use
  • Working in a high-volume, complex Multi-Brand Retail environment
  • Partnering across Retail, Planning, Commercial Development, Finance, Technology and other teams
  • Creating clear, polished and leadership-ready business narratives
  • Building repeatable processes that improve quality and team capacity

What you will bring to the team...

  • Strong commercial and analytical judgment with the ability to connect data to business decisions
  • Deep understanding of Retail performance, sales planning, objectives, KPIs and business intelligence
  • Experience within retail analytics, wholesale operations, business intelligence or a related field, ideally in a Multi-Brand Retail environment
  • Advanced analytical capability and proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Circana and data-visualization tools such as Power BI
  • Ability to combine quantitative analysis with retailer, market, competitive and field context
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information to senior leaders and varied audiences
  • Ability to develop a point of view and make clear, fact-based recommendations

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, set analytical work priorities and make thoughtful trade-offs
  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative and influence collaborative work across cross-functional teams
  • Passion for luxury Retail and an understanding of the complexity of MBR business models and retailer partnerships
  • Ability to establish standards for accuracy, storytelling and leadership-ready output, and to develop analytical capability in others

Position Logistics:

  • 6–8+ years of progressive professional experience in retail analytics, wholesale operating model, performance management, business intelligence or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience with commercial sales planning, objective-setting, KPI development, reporting and executive-level business presentations
  • Experience partnering with Retail, Planning, Commercial Development, Finance, Technology and market or field teams
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with experience using Power BI and Circana or comparable analytical platforms
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Hybrid role based out of our New York City corporate offices, with the ability to visit markets or points of distribution as business needs require

What skills you will learn?

  • Deepen expertise in MBR commercial planning, retailer performance and distribution-specific strategy
  • Build experience leading a full performance-to-action rhythm from objective-setting through business follow-through
