As a Pharmacy Intern, a caregiver in this role will gain hands-on experience supporting inpatient pharmacy operations while developing their clinical pharmacy skills. First-year interns receive training similar to pharmacy technicians and rotate through core pharmacy stations, including the medication carousel and IV room. IV training is provided as needed but is not required upon entry.

Second-year interns have the opportunity to expand their experience into more clinically focused activities, including medication histories, transitions of care, research and quality assurance projects. Interns may also have opportunities to shadow clinical pharmacists based on their interests and department availability. This role provides a progressive learning experience that allows interns to build technical, operational and clinical pharmacy skills throughout their training.
